This is a free, beginner/ intermediate crochet pattern to make your very own My Melody plush.

Round 2: (into 1st st place ss, hdc 2, dc, into next st place dc, hdc x2, ss) repeat 3 more times.

Tie off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

  • Sew down the perimeter of the face opening on the hood. I like to do this two rows back from the edge. Take your time and make sure you’re sewing through both layers of the hood and head.

  • Attach head to body, sewing through both loops of the last round of each piece. Stuff opening as you close it.

  • Pin ears into desired position.

  • To make the bent ear: sew down the left ear, then pin the right ear a few stitches away- this ear should be stuffed lightly and the other should be stuffed to medium firmness. Sew the base of the ear down and then pin the top of the ear into the desired position, then discreetly tack it down in several places, making sure you pull the yarn just tight enough to secure it, but not so tight that it bunches up.

  • Add the flower where you’d like it to go.

  • Then tie the collar around the neck. You can sew the perimeter down if you would like to, but I chose not to.

  •  If you have small gaps near the neck on the hood (pictured below) you can sew them up if the white peeking out bothers you!

  • Pin the tail to the middle of the lower back of the body, and sew down, making sure to stuff it lightly.

  • Lastly, it’s time to make the face.

    • Cut out two ovals, slightly wider at the base than at the top.

    • Mark out the middle of the face, and then pin the eyes into place before gluing or sewing them down. At this stage, I mark out where I would like the nose and mouth to go with pins.

    • With the yellow yarn, sew the nose in the middle of the eyes, lined up with the very bottom of the eyes.

    • Then, embroider the mouth. This is the part where you can give her any expression that you want.

That’s it! Now you have your very own My Melody plush!
