Pennie's Christmas Hat and Scarf

Updated: Mar 9

I really wanted to keep Pennie out all year and to dress it up seasonally, so since it's almost Christmas time, I designed a hat and scarf! Doesn't Pennie look so cozy and a bit jolly?? I love making these tiny hats and am so excited to share this pattern with you!

Materials:

3.75mm crochet hook

Worsted weight yarn in the colors of your choice

Stitch markers

Yarn needle

Pom-Pom

Abbreviations:

mr- magic ring

st- stitch

sc- single crochet

inc- increase

Hat:

Round 1: mr 4 [4]

Round 2: inc x4 [8]

Round 3: sc around [8]

Round 4: (sc 1, inc)x4 [12]

Round 5: sc around [12]

Round 6: (sc 2, inc)x4 [16]

Round 7: sc around [16]

Round 10: (sc 4, inc)x4 [24]

Round 11: sc around [24]

Round 12: (sc 5, inc)x4 [28]

Round 13: sc around [28]

Round 18: (sc 8, inc)x4 [40]

Round 19: sc around [40]

Round 20: (sc 9, inc)x4 [44]

Round 21-22: sc around [44]

*Switch to white *

Round 23: (sc 10, inc)x4 [48]

Round 24-25: sc around [48]

Fasten off, weave in ends.

I find it’s much easier to attach the pom-pom while you’re still working near the top of the hat rather than waiting until you’re all done. It’s much less of a hassle to secure it!

If your hat isn't folding over like you'd like it to, I suggest sewing it down so it will stay!

Scarf:

Row 1: ch 73

Row 2: starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc all the way across [72]

Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc across [72]

Fasten off, add tassels to the end if you prefer!

And this is what Pennie looks like wearing the Christmas hat and scarf! What do you think? If you make them you should tag me on Instagram @cutiepie_crochet so I can see your wonderful creations!!
