Mickey Mouse Amigurumi Pattern

Updated: Aug 20

Hi crochet friends! Welcome back to another Free Pattern Friday!! Today’s pattern is our first Ko-Fi funded pattern and I’m so excited to be sharing it with you! This Mickey Mouse amigurumi pattern is a bit more advanced than my usual patterns and requires quite a bit of sewing, but I promise it will be totally worth it.

I originally made this Mickey Mouse amigurumi pattern in 2017 for a friend and it was really fun to be able to study the animations and artworks to be able to work out just how the plush should look! For this pattern, I did leave off his tail, but if you want a tail, I recommend just chaining a length of yarn for that. This pattern make a pretty large plushie. I wanted it to be something that was cuddle-friendly, but could also sit on a shelf if one decided to display it, so that’s why I made mine in a sitting position. I feel like my end result ended up looking just a tiny bit cursed, but I'm still pretty happy with it, so I'm just gonna roll with it haha!

Before we get started with this pattern, I just wanted to day thank you all so much for all your kind words and support throughout the process of making this pattern! I love this community so much and feel so blessed to be surrounded by such supportive people!

So, thank you so much for joining me today on this crochet adventure! Let's get to crocheting, shall we?

Assembly:

  • Attach the opening of the head to the opening of the body. Stuff the opening as you go so that the head doesn’t flop around (unless you want it to, that’s okay too!)

  • (Optional) Mark out the middle of the head with a contrasting colored string and a couple pins so that it’s easier to get everything evenly placed.

  • Add ears to top of head, 5 rounds down from the center and a couple stitches back (pictured)

  • Place the eye piece that you sewed together earlier onto the upper-middle of the face, with the top edge of the piece 7 rounds down from the top center of the head and sew down the whole perimeter.

  • Pin snout onto the face, slightly overlapping the bottom edge of the eye piece. As you sew this piece down, lightly stuff it to give it its shape.

  • Sew nose on to the tip of the snout.

  • With the shorts cuffs slid over each leg, pin the legs into a sitting position and sew down. Then pin the shorts cuffs into place and sew down.

  • Pin fingers onto white part of arms into desired position and attach, then add the arms to the sides of the body.

  • Sew on shorts buttons and add the rest of the eye details!
